About me
Hello and Much Love to you. My name is Daksha and I would love to tell you a little about me.
I live in Cambridge, which is such a beautiful historical place to live. I have lived here since 1996. I love that everything is so close by, especially so close to nature, with lots of beautiful countryside, woodland and river walks to choose from.
Before I write about my Reiki journey I would like to talk about Reiki and about Meditation, and how it can help you on your healing journey to find inner peace, love and calmness.
Reiki - Reiki is an ancient Japanese healing technique. Pronounced Ray-Kee, It means Rei: Universal and Ki: Life Force Energy. A Japanese man named Mikao Usui discovered and developed Reiki in the 1920’s. He went on to teach and attune others to be able to offer Reiki healing to help others. Energy within and around the body sometimes gets blocked or does not flow as it should thus causing some dis-ease within ones body. Improving the flow of this energy around the body can help in healing this dis-ease, and this is what Reiki does.
Reiki is a complementary therapy, it is a energy healing technique which channels this loving healing universal life force energy to the recipient, helping in removing blocks and improving flow of energy within and around the body promoting relaxation, relieve pain, reduces stress and anxiety and helps with overall well being. It is now also being offered as complimentary therapy in hospitals and hospices.
Meditation - Meditation is to give yourself some time to be with yourself. The essence of meditation is to just be. That is, to be with yourself in the moment and rest in the lap of your being. We are so used to rushing around and doing things all the time that it seems difficult to just be. To meditate is to give yourself some time where you do not have to think, do or achieve. Meditation is a practice where you fully embrace mindfulness. It involves paying close attention to the present moment, using different methods such as focusing on your breathing, noticing any thoughts which come, but not focusing on them, but just letting them pass. Being in the present moment helps you to be fully in the now, which helps in not worrying about the past or the future. Meditation can be done with your eyes open or closed. Focusing on the awareness that is within you, the awareness that notices your thoughts come and go, you are not your thoughts or your thinking mind. You are the awareness, the just being, the consciousness within you. Meditation helps you connect to the real you.It helps you to become fully relaxed, relieving stress and anxiety and finding peace and calm within yourself.
My Reiki journey started during the COVID period, which affected a lot of people in different ways, in their well being, emotionally and mentally. What helped me during that testing time was firstly completing a CBT and Mindfulness Diploma online Course. This lead me onto to doing an online Reiki course, which in turn then led onto completing a Meditation and Chakra Healing course too. I really enjoyed doing these, they helped me tremendously and gave me so many tools to help me find inner peace, healing and calmness within. I then went onto training and getting attuned to Reiki Level 1and 2 in person. After this I felt a strong inner calling to help others, and thought it would be so lovely to be able to share and to offer Reiki and Meditation to help others too. Giving tools to learn how to Meditate, and through Reiki help others in dealing with their physical, emotional and psychological conditions. As well as helping them on a spiritual level.
My Practice, which is in a private peaceful space, I offer one-to-one Reiki, Hand Massage and Guided Meditation according to your personal needs. Creating this space was such a wonderful journey for me, knowing that I am able to give the beautiful experience of Reiki healing, and the relaxing experience through doing meditation, and also finding peace and calm during the healing power of hand massage.
Reiki is a non-invasive technique, where the client remains fully clothed, lies down on a couch and all they have to do is relax. I use the hands off method where I place my hands a few inches above the body to channel the life force energy through the palms of my hands. The recipient usually experiences very deep relaxation, go into a deep meditative state or even fall asleep.
I also offer group Relaxation/Meditation classes every Wednesday evening in Fulbourn, where you get the chance to give yourself some time for you to get away from the everyday business, to relax, to heal and to find inner peace within you. So please do come along to these sessions. Details are under Group Meditations at The Swift, Fulbourn.
